Sustainability Commission

                                         MISSION, PURPOSE, AND AUTHORITY

An 11-member Commission established by Ordinances 1711 and 1743 whose members are appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the City Council in staggered three-year appointed terms. The duties of the Sustainability Commissioners are to identify, research, review, and make recommendations to the City Council regarding:

(A) City policies affecting energy and natural resource conservation;
(B) Approaches for improving municipal and community energy efficiency;
(C) Plans and programs identifying municipal and community-based energy efficiency and productions  projects;
(D) Natural resource issues facing the City, including water conservation, air pollution, waste management, and recycling; and
(E) Community education programs and project financing options.

The Sustainability Commission meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Large Conference Room in City Hall located at 3200 East Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, CA.
